Professionally we have two main topics in focus right now at The Austin Stone: implementing a new church management system (think CRM, but for churches) and figuring out an AI strategy and policy for the church.

Rock Relationship Management System

As we move from an off-the-shelf ChMS that has aged poorly following an acquisition, I am excited for the opportunities that an open source, highly customizable, and mature platform offers. As with any major software transition there comes a moment when “we’ve still got time” turns into “we’re launching in 4 weeks.” In late February, we’re now at that moment. It’s really exciting to see how our staff is reacting to the small improvements the initial launch will bring, because what we can do in the next couple of years will really help them care for the people in our congregations!
